The Traineye putting trainer is an example of a tool that naturally engrains two of the most basic fundamentals of great putters. As the video below demonstrates, the Train Eye utilizes a plumb-bob in the form of a black bar that hangs directly below a fixed yellow bar. Getting your head above the ball is as simple as moving your head until the black bar below disappers. I found that with my normal set up, my head was well inside the ball which caused me to line up closed to the target line. With just a few strokes using the Traineye, I was already becoming more comfortable above the ball. And with my body in line with the target, my mind wasn't telling my hands to compensate for my poor alignment.

With the Traineye's putter alignment marks, it was easy to square the clubhead to the ball and keep it square througout the stroke.
