All of the weight is above your grip, while the umbrella is held well below the center of gravity. This makes holding the umbrella more difficult, and causes undo fatigue particularly in windy conditions. The ergonomics experts would tell you hold it above the middle of the shaft, but umbrellas don’t have a grip in the middle of the shaft...until now!
